If you live in Massachusetts and need a tuxedo, you should go to Formalwear Ltd. This is quite simply the best customer service I have ever received, period AND at a fair price. The owner took care of me personally, gave me great advice, and wouldn’t stop until I was completely satisfied. First one I tried on I didn’t like and without me even saying a word he said “I can see this one is not right, let’s try one with a more natural shoulder" and started trying to find me something that was great. This place is special-you should go here for anything you need, even if it’s a longer drive. You will not regret it.

5 stars for Formalwear Ltd spectacular customer service. My husband came here for tux rentals for our wedding. We wanted to have slim-fitting tuxes and the owner Jim was the only one in Boston that said he could do that. The big chain rental places said that rentals can’t be slim fit because they can’t alter their tuxes. Formalwear also had the best prices out of all the stores we checked out.

The prom tux selection at Formalwear Ltd in Waltham is the best I’ve seen this spring. They’ve got over 30 styles displayed in their showroom and they must have over 100 vest colors to match any prom gown. Definitely the best place in the Boston area. Their prices are great also.

We used Formalwear Ltd in Waltham for our wedding. We rented tuxes for the groom and groomsmen as well as for the fathers and a ring bearer. We checked out all the tuxedo rental places in the Greater Boston area-big and small. After reading all the reviews, Formalwear Ltd sounded the best. I’m so glad that we picked them. Our initial meeting was with Jim the owner he was awesome. He showed us many different styles and options which we were all right on the premises. Their costs are very competitive with the big chains. One big key is they’re local and all the stuff is right there in their building in case of any last minute changes. Most of our ushers were out of town and my biggest fear was that their sizes would be wrong and not correctible. Not the case here! We were all taken care of by their staff and always felt a sense of comfort in their store. We’d suggest Jim and Formalwear Ltd for anyone looking for their wedding tuxes.

We were very impressed with the efficient and friendly service we received by Jim in Formalwear Ltd. Jim is very knowledgeable, took good measurements and was very attentive to all my son’s requests as he was fitting him a tux for his Junior prom. When we came back to pick it up the tux Jim followed through and made sure everything was fitting well. My son could not have been happier when we walked out of the store and he looked great for his prom. The price was lower than anywhere else we looked. We’ll definitely be back next year for senior prom.

Just picked up my tux rental at Formalwear Ltd in Waltham. I got invited to a charity ball in Boston, called a number of tux places in Boston and they were the only ones who could actually take care of my needs with one days notice. I’m 6’6 and 250 pounds and very difficult to fit. I walked in and this guy Jim eyeballs me right away as a 48 extra long. I was out of there within 20 min with tuxedo shoes, studs, cufflinks, and the whole ensemble. A beautiful and uplifting experience!

I thought I’d share this comment about a tuxedo store that I recommend. The store is Formalwear Ltd on Elm St in Waltham, Ma. I was an usher in a wedding and the groom ordered our tuxes from a men’s warehouse. When I tried on my tux the night before the wedding, there was no tie included. I called the warehouse but it was closed until Monday. Since the wedding was Sunday, I called several local tuxedo stores for help and finally got a person named Jim McElroy on the line who was the owner of Formalwear Ltd of Waltham. He told me to meet him at his store, even though it was closed that Sunday and he found me the matching tie I needed. He never charged me for his time or for the tie. If you’re looking for everything to be right on the wedding day, go to Jim’s store.

I needed a tux for a black tie wedding and I only had a week to get it. I went in to the Men’s Warehouse on Boylston. They had a snake oil salesman that barely took a second to listen to what I wanted before he started trying to sell me on buying a crappy tux. While he went into the back to pull something, I walked out. I went out of my way to Waltham and it was well worth the trip. I got personal attention at Formalwear Ltd and they really worked with me on what I wanted. The quality of the tuxedo was outstanding, and came with everything I needed (shoes, cufflinks, studs, ties, vest, etc.) I’ve had to rent a tux as part of a wedding before, and it has always felt like the measurements were just to give them a ballpark so that they could pull the closest thing off the rack. Not here. The tux fit me perfectly in every way. I was really pleased and the service could not have been better or more helpful. Thanks!

The one thing I like about the tuxedo store, Formalwear Ltd in Waltham, Ma was that the owner said if anything is wrong the night before or the morning of my wedding, I could call him on his emergency line and it would be fixed with no charge. I didn’t need extra help because everything was perfect, but I liked that emergency safety net.

Got my tux rental from Men’s Warehouse in Burlington tried jacket on- 3 sizes too small. It was Sunday morning and the wedding was at 3 pm. Men’s Warehouse couldn’t help me. They didn’t stock extra jackets. I went online and found Formalwear Ltd in Waltham. I called and the owner, Jim McElroy actually answered the phone. He met me at his store within the hour, had the proper jacket size and my “tail" was saved. Thanks Jim.
